How do I use ACC's catalog?
Answer
ACC's catalog will search print materials at the library, as well as electronic books and articles.
To access the catalog, enter a search term in the big, green search box on the library's homepage.
We use OCLC's catalog interface. By default, only ACC's local holdings are searched. To see materials available in other libraries, you can select the option "Libraries Worldwide" under "Held By" within the filter's menu on the left of the screen.
The catalog interface can also be used to search ACC's collection of databases.
- To change database selections, go to the Advanced Search.
- On the right will be groupings of database.
- Click on the "arrow" to expand the selection and view all database for that group.
- After selecting or deselecting the databases to search, make sure to click on "Save Changes" at the top of the column.
- You will need to click "Search" again to re-execute the search.
- This method of database searching does not always work, and you may need to click on the link provided by the search to go to the database.
- It MAY transfer to search terms and do the search (or it may not.)
We do not recommend using the catalog to search our databases. Instead, we suggest performing searches within the particular database that applies to your topic. See the A-Z Database list or our research guides for subject-specific database recommendations.
